Dior
We are so proud to show how wonderful our rescued horse from 2015 is doing! We rescued Dior, together with her sister, Feenja and her mother from a horrific gypsy camp. Dior has been with her family for 4 years now and is just the most beautiful horse. She has love and care and respect from her family and loves being pampered and cared for. Dior is also being ridden in small riding tests and is doing so well. Thank you again Esther and family for having given her the amazing home she so deserves. We look forward to seeing more wonderful photos of Dior and her people in the future.

Feenja
Feenja is Diors’ sister. She was a foal when when we rescued her too. She was with a wonderful family in the Algarve for 4 years as well, always being part of their daily love and affection and learning how to trust people and how to interact with other horses. The SMVC paid for Feenja’s stay for 4 years and we were so lucky to have found the wonderful Nina who lives at the Bodensee who took Feenja last year home with her. She has become a gorgeous horse, full of energy and loving life! She has the most amazing life with Nina and gets to live in her fields, swim in the Bodensee and be loved and respected. Thank you so much Nina, for your kindness and love and taking Feenja.

Donkey
This sweet and fully neglected donkey was rescued on Monday night from a horribly neglected place. No food, water or any medication and now we were able to find him a forever home with a wonderful person, living in the Algarve, who already has one donkey. So they can now be together and enjoy each others company and also knowing that he will take the best care of both of them. The SMVC will continue to check up on them both and help with medication and guidance, should it be needed. Thank you so much to our fantastically loyal Susanne Graf for always being there for us and the animals that need our help. Thank you for never letting anyone down, even if rescuing animals in the Portugal is certainly not easy. We cherish you and thank you for everything you do.
