Education and Knowledge

My very first horse was named Estrela - and she literally changed my life. I heard there was a wonderful mare for sale and when I went to go and see, I found her stabled in an old, dilapidated, run down cow shed. There was only one window, it was the size of my hand, she was standing all day long in darkness, and God knows, for how long. It was then and there that I knew, I had to rescue her and went back the very next day and bought her!

The idea was borne immediately, that she needed proper stabling and so, I decided to build my own stables in the Algarve. What originally should have stayed small didn't, I built my own riding center. It was the beginning of a wonderful new path. I rescued uncountable numbers of animals, from dying horses, that were caged in, pregnant and had no food, to 3-legged dogs and blind cats, and sheep and goats, throughout those years and gave all of them a safe and respectful home, with all the medical support that was needed.

I had the enormous indescribable honor of owning Estrella, and with all the many years that we spent together, our mutual bond ever so strong, we experienced all the good, and the bad, and all our memories will stay with me forever. 

Horses are one of God's most magnificent creatures and one has the obligation to treat them with the utmost respect and honor a human being can put forth, for without them, we would be only half as powerful. 

For all Estrella's still living in appalling circumstances and totally neglected and suffering, I dedicated this Foundation and shall aim to help and support them throughout Portugal.

Sterilization 
It is our strong belief, that sterilization must be in the fore front and should be emphasized. There would be far fewer animals living in the streets and also having to live in the shelters. The Swiss Mobile Veterinary Clinic will carry all fees and costs so that as many sterilizations can be implemented while on route working in the Algarve.
